About

Raised in South Africa and Rwanda, Kenyan born, and currently a Kigali based artist and documentary photographer, my work is a cross between fine art and documentary photography. Through my works, I explore notions of identity, culture, and conservation. I believe that art making is a collaborative process and every participant becomes a critical collaborator. We can better understand our interconnectedness through our shared struggles for equality by sharing a diversity of voices and experiences.

Tracy Keza is a Rwandan artist working in video and photography. Through her work, she sets out to explore notions of identity, culture, and conservation. Using both a documentary and fine art approach, Tracy hopes to use storytelling to document stories that inspire people’s connection to each other, animals and the planet. In 2022, her passion for marine and ocean conservation led her to pursue scuba diving to enhance underwater stories in East Africa. Now a PADI Certified Rescue Diver, Tracy hopes to explore the wonders of the subaqueous world. Tracy is an African Conservation Voices Media Lab Fellow (2021), Jackson Wild Summit Fellow (2022), NEWF Fellow, and a PADI Certified Rescue Diver. Infusing an academic background in Environmental Science from Trinity College with a passion for human centered stories, Tracy’s work focuses on contemporary issues in conservation, climate, healthcare and education.
